Plan Your 2020 Thanksgiving Getaway in Sunny Daytona Beach

Are you ready to create a new Thanksgiving tradition in 2020? If so, then it might be the perfect time to trade in your typical celebrations for a trip to Daytona Beach. You'll enjoy temperate weather, beautiful beaches and a variety of delicious restaurants ready to play chef for your holiday dinner. No matter whether you're planning to celebrate the holiday with family or give yourself a much-needed solo vacation, here is what's happening all Thanksgiving weeklong at the World's Most Famous Beach.

Enjoy Cruisers and Crafts at the Daytona Turkey Run

No trip to Daytona Beach would be complete without visiting the Daytona International Speedway. This year, from November 28th through December 1st, we celebrated the Daytona Turkey Run, a time-honored tradition and the largest classic car show and swap meet in the US. Bring the family along and check out the beautiful classic cars all weekend long. It had more than 5,000 collector cars on display, handmade arts, crafts and other gifts, and even special collector cars for purchase or trade.

Experience an Oceanfront Turkey Trot at the Thanksgiving Gobble Wobble 5K

If you really want to earn that second slice of pumpkin pie bring the family out to the Flagler Avenue Boardwalk to burn off some calories before the delicious festivities begin on Thanksgiving Day. The Gobble Wobble 5K starts and ends on New Smyrna Beach. Whether you choose to walk or run, you'll enjoy gorgeous beach views and time spent with loved ones. The race typically begins at 9am and participants can sign up online. After the race, show your bib to the Flagler Tavern and enjoy a drink of the house.

Shop the Popular Daytona Flea & Farmers Market

Every weekend throughout the month of November find cool antiques, artisan jewelry, local produce and homemade food items at Daytona Flea & Farmers Market, voted the "6th Best Market in the World" by Travel Channel. With 600 vendors and over 1,000 booths fuel up on some gourmet coffee before tackling over three miles of shopping. You'll also find two restaurants and nine concessions stands, as well as special events happening each weekend. Daytona Flea & Farmer's Market is open from 9am-5pm, Friday through Sunday and it's the perfect spot for bargain shoppers and those just looking to find some hidden gems and unique treasures.

Find Great Shopping Deals on Last-Minute Gifts

Are you the ultimate procrastinator when it comes to shopping for holiday gifts? If so, you'll be relieved to hear that a lot of deals and specials are going on through the Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy the rush of Black Friday at Tanger Outlets Daytona Beach or get to the shops early for their Moonlight Madness sales event, which starts Thanksgiving night and goes all weekend long. In downtown Daytona Beach you'll also find more than sixty shops, attractions and restaurants at the Riverfront. Discover one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list while also supporting local businesses for Shop Small Saturday.

Grab a Pint at the 3rd Annual Hops & Hoods Craft Beer Festival

With a brewing company near the riverfront, it's safe to say that Daytona Beach loves beer. On Saturday, November 30th from noon to 4pm, Daytona International Speedway played host to the annual Hops & Hoods Craft Beer Festival while simultaneously hosting the 45th annual Daytona Turkey Run. Whether you like cars, craft beer or both, this festival is for you. Enjoy more than 120 different beers from 48 different brands. 2020 Tickets for the festival can be purchased online or on-site.

Enjoy Thanksgiving Dinner (in Your Pajamas)

If you're not much of a chef leave the cooking up to the experts. Hilton Daytona Beach makes it easy for guests to enjoy Thanksgiving brunch or dinner without having to wander far from the room. Before the tryptophan takes over, enjoy whiskey flights or a nightcap at McCoys Rum Room. Between the turkey, whiskey and our cozy bedding, a good night's sleep is almost guaranteed.
